Ally had, true to her promise, gotten ready as quickly as physically possible, putting on a dark blue dress that was just long enough not to be totally scandalous, complimented with a pair of five inch black stilettos and a long, flowing cardigan to keep herself warm when the night got chillier. She pushed her hands through her hair and had used a bit of spray to give it that tousled look she liked when she went out on the town, like someone had put their hands through it already. Add a touch of make up, eyeliner and lip gloss, a black clutch with strap so she didn't have to hold it all night and she was ready to go.
A couple of looks in the mirror convinced her that she looked pretty much as good as she was going to - she wasn't a patch on her sister but she supposed she'd do in a pinch - and that fussing over herself wasn't going to make her look any better.
Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked down the corridor towards Cody's room and the door was slightly ajar as she arrived, pretty much able to hear Jos' surprised commentary and barrage of questions around the injury to Cody's face.
"You know," she said, pushing the door open a little further and leaning against the doorframe, long legs crossed at the ankle, showing an impressive display of balance on those heels, "I could always make it invisible for the night."
