Evan couldn't seem to take his mind and his eyes off of the blonde female, regardless of what his friends had said, even knowing that they were right in their words. While Evan didn't understand the dynamics of how the other social groups worked, he knew that the private school crowd mostly looked down upon the public school crowd. Of course, there were some exceptions to the rules. Not all of the trust fund teenagers were bad, but a rather large majority of them had been known plenty of times to be unpleasant and downright cruel, simply because they were born into money, while others hadn't been.
Evan saw what felt like their eyes meet momentarily. He smiled sheepishly in her direction but he honestly doubted that she was even looking at him. She was likely looking at a tree or the bonfire, something more practical. When she waved, Evan's expression changed to one of surprise. Was she waving at him? She definitely was waving at somebody in their general direction. However, as quickly as it could have possibly been their paths crossing, the girl was grabbed by her friends and pulled into the direction of the bonfire.
Trying to remove her from his mind was a difficult task and while his attention turned back to his friends and motorcycles, the blonde girl was impossible to forget about, even if it was only in his mind. He had his back turned to the direction of the bonfire and was taking a drink of his soda when he heard his friends react to something, obviously in disbelief.
"What the fuck? "Did you get lost, Princess?" "Slumming it for the evening?" "What is this?" "Well, well, well."
Before Evan could turn around to find out what was going on, he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard a female voice. Evan turned around casually, trying to play things cool in front of his friends. He wasn't honestly sure as to what to expect. Imagine his own reaction when he turned and faced the blonde girl, the girl that felt as if she was made up of his dreams. She greeted him, and honestly if Evan's chin could have dropped low enough in surprise to hit the ground it likely would have. "Hey?" He said politely, although it sounded more like a question than a return greeting.
She asked him what he was doing where he was? Why wasn't he hanging out with the rich kids? Evan couldn't help the look of disbelief on his face, nor could he hide it. As beautiful as this girl was, had she lost her mind? But he also couldn't ignore how much courage and boldness it would take a girl like her to approach this group of delinquents in the middle of a crowded area, where all social groups could witness it.
"I'm sorry?" Evan chimed in confusion. "I don't know what you're talking about." Which he really had no idea what she meant, and that was apparent. Why wasn't he hanging out with them, down there by the bonfire? Evan could hear the sarcastic comments of his friends and held up his hand to them, his back turned to them. "Shut up," he retorted in their general direction. He turned his head to shoot them a dirty look before turning back to look at her.
"I think you have me mixed up with someone else." Which was an honest response on his own part. Evan would remember if he had ever spent time with her, he would definitely have not forgotten something of that nature. Her thinking that he was somebody else was the only rational explanation. "What is your name?" He asked her. Even if she did have him mixed up with somebody else, she was still standing their, her attention focused on him. He would be an idiot to waste such an opportunity to find out more about this girl.
"I'm Evan," that he was. "And you have to overlook these assholes," Evan smirked in regards to his friends. "They were never taught manners." Evan's group of friends didn't disagree with that statement.
"I've never noticed you before. Are you new in town?" Evan wouldn't be able to forget a face like hers. Evan wouldn't be able to forget her.
