Mark had several conflicting emotions about this. On one hand, he was amused. Cousins occasionally teased each other. Though technically, they weren't true cousins, as they did not have any sort of blood relation in any way. It was more of an emotional thing that perhaps caused them to refer to themselves as such. And he did want to see how this one would react once he learned the truth and accepted it. Of course, that might involve a bit of violence and blood loss on his part, but it was good that he was a fast healer.
On the other hand, he was a bit annoyed. He'd have thought his own cousin would have recognized him once he introduced himself again. It couldn't be that much of a stretch to imagine it. He'd thought that Damien of all people, especially considering who and what he was, would remember him. Or at least believe him after citing only a few facts he would only know. But to be fair, maybe this was a good thing as well. It gave them an excuse to meet.. not that he thought he needed an excuse. And besides, if his cousin just believed anyone claiming to be someone he knew, he'd probably not be a very good ruler years from now. So perhaps this could also serve as a test. The fact that Mark was perhaps about to have a part in it made him a little happy inside. At last he could be useful.
But whatever, he was confident that he would be able to prove it. At least he'd taken advantage of the deal he made with Damien. Anything he wanted. He thought it was smart to take advantage of such an opening as that, as he wasn't sure an opportunity would occur too often. He'd also thought his cousin's firm belief that he wasn't Mark also played in that.. which is why he made sure his antichrist cousin swore on his father. He understood that swearing in such a way sort of created a binding contract. Of course, he wasn't sure what to ask for.. the term anything covered a very broad spectrum. What can you ask for that can be obtained or given by the antichrist? He'd have to think on it for a while. It would have to be something big and important.
It did not take him too long to arrive at that door. Merely only several minutes had passed since Mark had shut his door and was now at Damien's. And so, as he stood in front of it, he reached out his hand and placed it on the knob. It was only a half turn, then a click, and he smiled as the door pushed open for him. He stepped inside and closed it behind him, locking it as well. And there he was. Damien didn't look too much different. Mark sighed, pretending to sound disappointed and dramatic. "Well.. okay then. I guess it's time to prove it now. Ohh, what has the world come to when your very own cousin doesn't even believe you..."
