She nearly flinched when his arm draped around her. Physical contact still felt strange to her. However, oddly enough, she relaxed because the arm around her felt so familiar and comfortable because it was Roald. She knew how he was. “Me? I’m not scared of anything,” she called down to him with a similar twinkle in her eyes. It was going good so far, climbing up and soon with ease. Her foot caught each branch with her palms seized the other in front of her. But mistake number one: she never checked to see if the branch was stable or not.
So when she wasn’t even half way, her step faltered, and she let out a feminine cry. Fortunately, she caught herself, the rapid beating of her heart quick to ease and she jokingly glared down at Roald. “No laughing.” Whilst she continued to climb, she occasionally looked down at him with a smile. “Do you remember that time I attacked you with water balloons?” The memory caused her to chuckle. “I forgot why I did it though. I think revenge, maybe?” Her step faltered again, but she was quick to catch herself.
