James had to nod along with amusement to her comments about her dress. Wasn’t that girl-speak for the dress being more important than she made it out to be, or something? Maybe. Something like that. He’d certainly heard his sisters put down a new dress on more than one occasion.
To her question, he answered, “I’m very well, thank you. I wanted to, actually, but it doesn’t look like the weather’s going to cooperate.” With one hand, he indicated the sky. “Might be a day to take things indoors. How about you? What’s been on your schedule this summer?”
