Polonius nodded at Toria's assertions. The maid knew how to rule, which was a rare trait. "Let us all pray that King William is as wise as his neice," he said quietly.
His ears caught on the children's dispute as well. He smiled wryly before turning a more solemn expression on Toria. "I fear that too many were felled by the sickness, my lady, but there are many young men who might help. Perhaps if you ask some of the lads hereabout, they may direct you to someone who would be willing to take on such a task." He let his voice carry a bit, to be sure the boy would hear.
