Her daughter's display of manners did much to calm Kaelyn, Genna was six and needed to learn control. As the Stark words said Winter was coming and if for any other house being offered the throne would have been high summer it was not the same for the Starks. In some ways Genna was right, Kings Landing was not a place for them but William had taken the throne so all that was to be done was to make it their place.
She had not considered for a second that Genna would want to be fostered and it surprised and stung. But Genna was six and changable and refusing her outright was foolish given that William may decide to foster her out. She reminded herself that fostering was not a bad thing, not truly as little as she wanted it for her children, it was something every mother of noble blood must face. "You could," she said slowly. "But not yet," William did not need that to think on with everything else. "You must wait until your sister is well," she could not bring herself to phrase the other alternative, "and there must be no more incidents like today. If we sent you to be fostered and you behaved so it would not be fitting. You will have to show me you can act the proper princess." Such conditions were not unreasonable and perhaps would give Genna a chance to truly think on what being away from them would mean. "But sweetling you must also remember that even if you ask your father if he has other plans for you, you must not be disappointed. He will always do what is best for you." She softened and brushed a lock of Genna's hair from her face, "and you should remember we would all miss you terribly."
