"Genna," said her mother daring a mild rebuke, "your father loves you and Gwyn very much. He is King now and you must accept that he is occupied and that you do not get to choose whether you are Stark or not. You were born a Stark and you will be one until you are much much older and take a husband." They were moving slowly as Kaelyn talked and she hoped that the walk to the godswood would not take much more but she was tired, had been tired for days and Genna was too old for Kaelyn to easily carry her so far. But eventually they were their and Kaelyn sat her daughter down in front of the heart tree - so different to the one they were both used to. "You can't be a child of the forest or an Arryn," she said softly, "the Gods have made you a Stark and a Princess. There is naught you can do but learn to live with it." She attempted to dry Genna's tears with the sleeve of her dress. "When I was your age," she said, "I wanted to be a Tallhart, but it did not matter what I wanted, I was an Arryn til I wed your father and I will be glad of that always because otherwise I would not have you." She kissed Genna's damp cheek, hoping to provide some comfort to her distressed child.
