"A jest is good for the constitution, I think," Hester said smartly, growing a little warm with the wine and the cloying heat of late summer. She shifted a little on her couch, face flushed with the alcohol and the attention the Martell girl was lavishing upon her. It was nice, being focused on.
"Vianna is worse than myself as far as her opinion of dear Kaelyn," Hester said lightly. "She's very cross at having been looked over for William's wife considering she comes from the main branch of House Arryn and not the lesser. I'm put out as well, but I was a bit young to be married at that time."
