Hester smiled to herself. "I think there is a place for levity in times such as these," she admitted, looking around the apartments at the rich decorations and food. "The plague has kept us all indoors as of late and it's crushing to the morale."
She laughed a little. "Besides, I'm a bit disappointed. My first stay at court, cousin to the queen, and I'm spending all my time nursing sick children. As much as I love my darling cousins, it gets a bit exhausting."
