Toria thought that perhaps she'd see if Genna wanted to spend the day with her. Her little cousin was understandably distressed. Toria was upset about Gwyn's condition, but she knew she'd be positively fraught with grief if it happened to any of her siblings. As she walked down the halls, she heard Genna's screaming. Toria wondered at that. The last time anyone had made her scream like that was her younger brother, when he spooked her horse with a snake and sent her flying off of the saddle.
Rounding the corner, she saw Genna barrelling forward at top speed in only her shift. Bracing herself, she moved to intercept her cousin, the same way she'd moved in the past to catch her younger brother. Only considerably less intimidating. Toria wasn't the slightest bit angry at Genna. She just wanted to know what's going on.
"Genna, sweetling? What's wrong?" Toria asked. "Why don't you join me in my room and we can talk about it?"
