"I understand," Hester said softly, thinking of how she'd sat with her father the few times he'd taken ill at The Eyrie. She was of the opinion that voices helped as well and reading to Gwyn could certainly do no harm. It might do Kaelyn good to have the time away as well.
"I'll watch over her, Cousin. You could take a few moments." Hester kept her voice low, in case Gwyn roused they wouldn't want to miss her--but they certainly wouldn't want to wake her if the rest was necessary either.
"It's a cruel disease, hitting the young and old alike. I have no idea how it spreads, but I think you and I would have gotten it by now if it were easy to catch. The Seven are watching over us, it seems."
