"Children of royalty and nobility often have a great deal of free time," Tymor said. "Unfortunately, not all children spend that free time appropriately. My suggestion would be to find some new things for her to try...some lively dance lessons might interest Genna, and I'm certain Toria could teach her to play a musical instrument if there was one she was interested in. I can watch the children now and then and read them stories, if you would like. They're all generally content to sit and hear a few stories."
With the age difference between Jaremy and himself, Tymor often found himself acting both as an older brother and as a surrogate father figure during his father's long absences. Tymor considered it excellent practice for being a father, if nothing else. It was also one of the reasons he was in no hurry to rush into marrying and producing an heir. If all of the children turned out like Jaremy, his blonde hair would be grey in no time.
"The key is finding out what sorts of things Genna is interested in, and directing her toward the positive things. Perhaps art and dance to start?"
He was kind enough not to mention Genna's questions about wenching to Kaelyn.
