Elia slipped through familiar hallways, her movements somewhat slower than was her usual habit. The Shade of the Evening exacted a heavy price the next morning and Elia was still being punished. She prayed to the Seven she would be fit for the feast this evening. But since she couldn't exactly sleep right now- she was far too miserable- she figured it was best to get on with annoying Aenyris. Two of her household guards trailed a smart distance behind the princess, and took up a place just down the hall from where she stopped.
At long last - Aeny's room. Elia paused to smooth her dark blue gown- she hadn’t been able to look at bright colors that morning- and knocked. A maid answered, but at least it was one with whom Elia was acquainted from the old days.
“Tell Aenyris that Princess Elia Martell of Dorne is here, please,” Elia ordered, sweeping through the door before the maid could refuse her entrance. She’d heard enough from her own servants about Aenyris’ new habit of turning away visitors. “And tell her I don’t care which lordling she’s got hidden in her room,” Elia added in a somewhat louder tone so she was certain her hostess could hear her through the walls “but it’s very rude of her not to come out to see an old friend!”
So declaring herself, Elia dropped into a chair. “Oh, and would one of you…” she pointed at the next maid, who had only just finished cleaning some bit of carpet “How about you? Go and send up some bread and honey from the kitchens since I know her ladyship will have nothing suitable for a hangover. Let’s add some cider to that too.” She curled herself up, and waited for Aenyris to come out of hiding. “I would have sent you a missive last night to ask you to come out with Prosperyn and me, but I’ve heard you’re quite fond of solitude lately!” Elia called to the bedroom door.
