Kaelyn listened carefully to her daughters requests some of which at least she could allow. "Cloth of silver would serve," she agreed, "though the wolfsheads will be sewn I think if you would like them." Princesses or not jewelled gowns were tacky on children, when her girls were maidens flowered perhaps but not before.
Hiding her own smile at Genna's borrowed grown up manners. She held out her hands for the girls to take to usher them along as they walked. "You can wear all colours," she promised, "though I think pink might wash your colouring out, but that's for ordinary feasts and tourneys and court and all the things you'll do hear at court. But for this when all of Westeros comes to honour your father, white and grey will remind everyone of who you are."
She could not help but think that Arryn colours might be useful, the Vale should be her lord husband's without doubt given her blood but it would not hurt to remind them of it. "I think to start with, we shall get you two gowns each in white and grey, another each in blue and cream and you can each order one in a colour of your own choosing." She glanced down at them hopefully, "how does that sound?" The girls would need more of course but once the dress makers had their sizing she could order those herself without the children getting overly excited about it.
