"It's not," he told her as he considered Polonius. When they were children, he had seemed almost a mythic figure- the knower of all they tried to hide, though beneficent enough not mention half of it. They had thought he knew everything and he could remember Polonius' laughter when they expressed that sentiment. He wasn't sure how he felt in hoping that the master of whispers might slip- that he might get past the detection.
Toria's kiss gave him cause to smile and he inclined his head graciously. "Rest assured my lady, that is one request I shall do all in my power to grant."
He watched Desmera enter but remained quiet. That Toria's idea might place her in danger he did not doubt but who was safe in this place? When you could not protect your people you must trust them to protect themselves...
