Tyrith raised a brow. "Who gains from William holding the throne?" He paused and considered the question. "One might say we do, though not so much as others... the Arryns are happier with their cousin on the throne. Though I am not sure that they are as overjoyed as others might be... the Tyrells have no love of Starks but perhaps their long feuds with Dorne give them an interest in seeing the Martells kept well away? As for the Baratheons, their silence is most deafening- Lord Baratheon is not fond of wolves." Still he wasn't satisfied. There were other powers at work here, powers he had spent long voyages and more dangers than he could count to learn.
"Braavos gains trade while our ports are closed and if war came they stand to turn a pretty proffit. Lys as well, though their lord is uncle to Prince Myrwin and Princess Elia." The Lysene trading empire had profited greatly from Queen Aeria's influence and Tyrith saw no reason they would risk their lucrative hold in Dorne. A Braavosi assassin hoping to spread discord among the Great Lords would make sense. So would a Tyrell plot to ensure Dorne stayed away from the Iron Throne... and the Northron lords would like to see their lord remain on the throne as well. And Northron lords did remember how to take skin.
"Is Lord Bolton still in the Keep, son?" Tyrith questioned almost idly.
Polonius Haine was a man Tyrith did not trust. He looked at Jaehaerys calmly, assessing the prince's thoughts as best he could. "A man with such loyalties is not bought or sold. Such men are dangerous. I wonder if the lord of spies has any sense of justice remaining? Would he see the rightful heir returned?"
