"I really did come just to thank you," said Toria, cheeks flushing a bit. The thank you had gone beyond words and treating him to a good meal and wasn't finished yet.
She was glad to hear that the betrothal hadn't been arranged long ago. If it was only two days ago, then it was likely that her mother and brothers didn't know about it just yet. Being the last to find out about her own betrothal would have been a little bit irritating.
His question took her somewhat by surprise. Normally when a match was arranged, the lady's opinion wasn't given a great deal of thought unless her father felt like being indulgent. Toria was fairly certain she could have gotten away with rejecting any potential suitor who didn't pose great opportunities for House Lannister's advancement.
"Your only competition for my heart is music," said Toria with a playful grin. "I am rather devoted to it, but there isn't anyone I've fallen in love with and lacked the courage to speak up about." She moved on to her next point. "I'm accustomed to risk. I realize being a queen would entail more than being a Lannister...but I'm already acquainted with being a target simply because of who I am. I was kidnapped and ransomed once when I was a child."
She reached her hand across the small table to rest on top of Jaehaerys' hand. "In short, yes, I accept the match. Politics aside, you've got the three traits I always wanted most in a husband - kind, intelligent and comely."
Taking a sip of her drink, she started daintily cutting her food up.
"I did at that," she replied, noting the look in his eyes. "Though, are you sure you've got no appetite for food? It seems that you've got a healthy appetite for your betrothed."
It was fun to tease someone who had a sense of humour about being teased. Toria's teasing tended to be gentle and playful rather than malicious, but not everyone was tolerant. She tended to tread lightly and test for reactions first before being too playful and unintentionally offending anyone.
