Elia grinned at Alais' answer. "Good! Well, of course, not about the books- that is a pity, but I have several you can borrow if you want. A side effect of my mother being Lysene. But moreover, you would do me a great service if you could join me for some discussion sometime if you're free. The baying of the hounds has dulled my brain to nothing and I should be mincemeat in moments if I had to face one of my brother's quizzes." Elia grimaced at the thought. If she could only design some way to make Myrwin immortal- or trick him into having some legitimate children. She didn't mind /helping/ rule but she didn't really have any great desire to do it herself.
Usually she had Aenyris or Jaehaerys to keep her half-attentive to the missives and piles of news she was supposed to be retaining but she'd been too distracted with the plague and then Jaehaerys and now Isobel Dayne... "It's horrifyingly difficult finding a lady who can find Lys on a map muchless one who can sift any puzzle more vexing than a cross-stitch. I would be more grateful than I could say to have someone to talk such topics with..." she paused with a meaningful grin, "and there's nothing so inarguable an excuse as a previous engagement." Especially one with the princess of Dorne- or one so fitting to a scandalous lady. Besides, Elia reasoned, her own circle was a tad less likely to be as boring company as the matrons who'd probably been approaching Alais already.
