Perhaps this bit of court Kaelyn did not mind so much, except that it took her away from Gwyn. She had visited her that morning with William as they had agreed though she had felt reassured by that. She did wonder what William thought of the petitioning. He had as yet not spoken of it to her and she waited patiently knowing that if he would, she would be there to listen. For now she watched from the gallery with the other nobles. Petitions were not for her to decide on though it was well within her husband's abilities. She misliked the throne as well, a King should not sit easy was true enough but Kaelyn believed that a true King - which William was easily capable of being did not need a throne that would cut him to be reminded of that fact. Only the half mad incestuous dragons would need such a thing.
She had dressed as became a queen and if worrying so about fashion was new to her, she was still capable of following it. She had at least the good fortune to suit the colour she preferred to wear, white and grey and blue and cream all suited her pale complexion. It was well she had not been truly a Tallhart - the brown and green would wash her out entirely. She had brought Brandon to listen to his father's decisions - all part of what he must learn, but when he grew at once restless and fussy she sent him out with Darcy Mormont, she would have gone herself - would have preferred it, but she knew she must put being Queen ahead of being a Mother and Darcy at least could be trusted. The Mormont parties late arrival had been a balm to Kaelyn in these times, it was merely Darcy and one of her three daughters but both were trustworthy friends and vassals. And Brandon knew them from Winterfell enough to not be worryingly shy.
And so she watched and waited for the petitioners do be done so she might leave the gallery and be what comfort she could to her husband.
