Tyrith glanced at his daughter. Through the accent he could hear a familiar voice, but he doubted he would have if he had not been looking to hear it. Even as he was looking, he would have thought his ears to be playing tricks if Toria hadn't already insisted. So, it was Prince Jaehaerys.
"Your words are more reassuring than false promises of miracles," he told Jaer. "Toria, take Desmera and see that the way is clear to Gwyn's room. Prices are hardly fit for ladies' ears." Not waiting to see if he was obeyed, he turned to Geron. "There is a small chest sitting on my desk. Would you be so kind as to bring it to me, please Geron?" he asked. The knight raised his brows but did not argue with his leige lord.
