"My lady wife wished to visit with her family. Moreover, as warden of the west I could scarcely remain in Casterly Rock or abroad while the council decides what to do about our current situation." He sighed. Although it was needful that he be here, and perhaps even be Hand, he couldn't say he entirely enjoyed being at court. Too still, too quiet. And he didn't revel in relying on his spies as his eyes and ears.
