After a considerable amount of time spent pouring over the research of potential spells, rituals, and artifacts in attempts to find his own answers for what had happened there seemed little that could reasonably be done at this point. Of course, the dear Doctor could of course attempt to rewind time, but playing within the time stream of the universe always held consequences most dire and for now.... Perhaps it was better to save himself the utterly mental and physical breakdown something like that would cause until absolutely needed... And how desperately Stephen hoped it never would be asked of him at all. However, in this case where information was sparse and those with it were doing even less speaking Strange was well aware that - as with any situation - time would be the ultimate equalizer in all of this. This then posed the questions of what would be revealed, how quickly, and who would be the ones to find the answers first. Then when the answers were indeed found, and made available to the public at large, would it already be too late? Would some other monster have already risen in place of the fallen good they all now faced? All of these inquiries were relevant and important points to consider, yet.... None of this changed the fact that Charles Xavier was dead, and The Illuminati had lost an irreplaceable member of their ranks. This did mean two things. First and foremost, proper respects would need to be paid to an important ally and historical figure within the eyes of both their organization and the world. Secondly, and perhaps what plagued Stephen the most, they would need to select a new member to join their ranks to represent mutant interest, and supplement the potential vacuum that might occur with Xavier's particular set of skills now missing. The second point, while most concerning, was perhaps where Strange found himself at his greatest loss. How would a master of the magical arts even begin to consider a new mutant based replacement within their ranks? Yet, after review of the news, press releases, and any other information he was capable of getting his hands upon Strange had at least one idea or two of what steps would serve him best. It was with this knowledge, and these plans, that Doctor Strange appropriately groomed, dressed and transported himself to land directly at the front door of Xavier's School. Allowing a moment to pass as his eyes examined the details of the scene laid out before him Stephen would then reach out and press the bell to announce his arrival to those inside of this mammoth mansion. With a clearing of his throat, and an adjustment of his gloves, now it was time for Stephen Strange to wait. |
