Sooner or later, Nico was fairly certain that she was going to curse one of her co-workers into a frog and make the damn fucker dance in a top hat, and she doubted that the top brass would have any problems with it either. They knew that some of their hires were real pieces of work. Not everyone joined SHIELD with altruistic intentions of saving children and making sure that they had a voice in their own futures. Many of them were here to simply earn a paycheck and beat assholes up.
Only these assholes were children and usually scared out of their minds because they just woke up setting their house on fire when they took a shit or something. So the whole punch first ask questions second was frowned upon in her department. Too bad she seemed to be the only one intelligent enough to understand that.
So after having to freeze her own teammate, lecture him, and then calm a crying teenage girl who now seemed unable to stay in any form of stable matter until they could get her onto the hellicarrier, Nico was ready to get out of work, clock out for a few days, and forget that there was still a pile of mission reports on her desk and a few phone calls to make to Stark's school and Xavier's regarding new students.
Nico slipped out of the standard shield uniform and pulled on her regular clothes, a black ripped skirt with a long sleeved lace up shirt. If her kids saw her like this, they'd probably all laugh or be in awe, but this was who she was deep down, still that dark brooding teenager that had to grow up too fast and take care of all her friends from a fucked up world that involved homicidal parents and elder gods.
She pulled her hair up into a pony tail, forced her unusually sharp nail to pierce the skin of her middle finger until it bled and summoned her staff.
“Bar fly.” She said with a quick wave, using the spell to get her to the bar that was a usual meetup spot for her friends. She was meeting America tonight, and she longed for the burn of alcohol already. As she reached the door and slid her wand back inside herself, she stepped into the room and looked around. Catching sight of the other woman, she grinned and walked over. “Sorry I'm late. I had to explain to my boss why Morris was being thawed.” Nico smirked as she slid to sit beside her. “Started already?”
