Nico gave a slightly curious look at America's reassurance that there was nothing to be careful about with the offer. They were friends, but not that close, at least Nico thought. Maybe America was just protective over her girlfriend's friends. Nico could understand that and left it at that.
Instead she took a sip of her drink and grabbed at the nachos as well. "Yeah? I figured. A good PI takes everything they can." Heck, anyone who needed help did. And in a world like their's, some cases needed more than the average wait and watch that used to happen.
"Wow bar nachos? Who would've thought?" She laughed and shook her head. "Better warn Karolina you're a cheap date." She laughed at the joke. "I would've thought a good steak was your cost at least." She grinned again and nodded. "Sure. Though I am a much more expensive date than you are. Just to warn you."
It felt good to relax with a friend. Work was always pressing and Nico took her cases seriously and personally compared to her coworkers. She remembered how it felt to be lost and afraid in the world, without anyone to trust. Adults were usually seen as liars and Nico tried to stop that with her kids. "So, how are you and Karolina? I haven't had a chance to spend time with her lately."
