As it happened Thor did indeed understand Jane's need to wield Mjolnir once more. During the course of his banishment to Midgard it had felt as if a part of him had been stripped away, for the hammer was not simply a weapon for him so much as part of his very identity. He did not necessarily need it to wield all of his power and he remained who he was in the absence of the Uru metal, but he never felt whole.
He had been distraught when his hammer had gone to Jane but even while he had been envious of her worthiness he had never doubted the validity of it. No one could take up Mjolnir who was not worthy of it and only Odin himself seemed capable of manipulating the magic within it as he was the first to bless it with his enchantments.
As it flew to Jane's outstretched hand-he was not altogether surprised, but he had not believed it would actually happen given how long it had been since she wielded his power-he gave a slow, reassuring nod of his head as he approached her, the grass crunching beneath his boots.
"I will", he agreed as he looked down at her. The transformation that had overtaken her was still surreal for him, particularly now given how long it had been.
"It's been a while since it has rained in this area', Thor remarked. "Perhaps you can do something about that."
