Jean-Paul glanced at his watch and then rolled his eyes, Warren was late. Mind you, everyone was late compared to Jean-Paul, and he was in fact ten minutes early for lunch. Picking up a magazine, he sat back in one of the armchairs dotted around the lobby of Worthington Industries main office. He wasn't particularly reading the magazine, so much as people watching from behind it, he didn't really mind if Warren was late. Jean-Paul wasn't exactly dressed up for their lunch meeting, despite knowing Warren would be in a collar and tie, but nor did he look out of place. He wore a white shirt, jeans and a tan jacket, all designer, and whilst his hair wasn't pristine, it looked intentionally messy. He caught the sideways glances of a couple of interns and smiled, returning his gaze to the magazine he was supposedly reading. Rolling his eyes at the stereotypical artical about teeth whitening, he flicked the page and scowled as he stumbled upon a two page editorial about 'famous' mutants.
To anyone who wasn't aware he and Warren were both mutants, their friendship must have seemed like a strange and unlikely one, after all, Warren was the heir to Worthington Industries, and Jean-Paul was just a teacher from Canada. It was the Professor, Jean-Paul had to thank for such an unlikely friendship, he had sent Warren to meet Jean-Paul and recruit him, but he met with more than a little resistance. Warren however was the only person in the world more stubborn than Jean-Paul, and eventually persuaded him to their way of thinking. A friendship blossomed through common interests, and the rest, as they say, was history. Now they went to lunch at least once a month, and more recently had supported each other through the most trying time they had known in recent years. The institute was the closest thing to home Jean-Paul had ever known, and their support for each other had been unwaivering, now it was time to get back to some sort of normality, or at least try to create a new normality.
