Thread: Just another day in the city... Characters: Silk (Cindy Moon) & Hawkeye (Clint Barton) NPCs: Various (NYPD, Bank Employees, Bad Guys...) Location: Midtown, New York Timeline: Monday, March 7th Description: Silk tries to tackle a bank robbery and Hawkeye crashes the party. Rating: PG(-13?)
Cindy rolled her chair back from her desk, tilted her head back and sighed. It had been a busy, but unproductive day. She'd formatted a few articles, run copy all over the office and even done some tedious errands for the senior staff. She'd taken the internship at the Bugle to try and use their resources. Investigative reporting was bound to have tons of sources and files and it was lot less awkward than trying to ask the police. But sometimes there just wasn't enough hours in the day.
Heh.
It was still odd to think of time passing quickly.
She didn't notice when it started but there was a low whistle not that far away from her. There was a cacophony of sound as television volumes were turned up and those employees still sitting at their desk eagerly refreshed websites. Breaking news! There was an armed robbery in progress. The junior staff crowded around the big screen television and Cindy edged her way along the side.
People were already barking orders and heading for the elevator. "Get down there! Photos! Now!" "You! Get that headline on the website now." "Twitter too?" "Everything! Update everything!" From across the hall, "I've got the NYPD on the line." And slightly softer, "I know that bank. It's right near here."
'Okay,' Cindy thought. 'Bank robberies. Bank robberies were supposed to be easy.' She glanced at the television for a second longer but there didn't seem to be any other heroes on the scene. She dashed towards the elevator, hitting the up button instead of down, and in moments was on the roof.
She ducked behind the roof hatch and paused for just a moment. Good. Nothing was setting off her spi-- her silk-sense. She raised her hands and in moments had changed into her uniform. Then she was off, swinging over the streets until she landed on the bank rooftop. She peered over the edge. There were already a few police cars below, but set way away, mostly blocking traffic and trying to corral onlookers.
That took care of the lookie lous. She just had to be careful about the people inside the bank. Presumably the robbers would have moved them all to the side-- shoot. The news hadn't said how many people were robbing the bank. J. Jonah always so determined not to get scooped.
Shoot. "Time to do this the hard way," Cindy said and prepared to make her entrance.
