Description: Hanging out at SHIELD HQ; going over files as you do
Rating: TBD
Bucky didn't have an office here at SHIELD HQ, which was fine, he didn't need an office, or he'd argue a desk. The locker he stored his gear in was good enough, and served him well. Except today - today he needed a desk. Or at least an area to spread out all the the papers (reports, photos, more reports) he had gathered so he could pore over them.
So he had made do.
Had hung around outside a meeting room, waited for it to empty out after people were done, and then caught the door before it closed and ducked on in. Then he had commandeered the table, and proceed to lay out over it, every file, and document he had access to relating to the death of Charles Xavier.
He hadn't officially been tasked by SHIELD to look into this, this was very much work done on his own time. He had followed up with contacts of his, had hit dead ends. Well dead ends when it came to Xavier, he felt he had come across some things that would bear looking into. Just - no connection to Xavier's death. Bucky hadn't expected to solve it. It just -- would have been nice. And he did, very much want to know who did it.
Staring at the paper spread across the table, he began to pace around, as if by moving he would somehow see something he and everyone else had missed before. He knew that the paper would all have to be shredded, was a waste considering it was all available digitally but - he was a low tech guy sometimes. Plus, after the incident in the briefing with his tablet (he had gone to bring up a file to display to the group, and instead brought up a YouTube video he had been watching pre-breifing of baby pandas.) he tried to use paper whenever he could.
Having completed a circuit of the table and not feeling any closer to - anything, he idly began to move some of the papers around. He wasn't cut out for this, he was the person you sent out to deal with things, not the person who tried to find patterns in the information that was available. And he knew SHIELD's best had been on it -
This was just his last attempt. Before he started focusing on other things his contacts had told him, and he was starting to feel like this whole exercise had been just a giant waste of time and paper.
