Pre-service: Shatterstar, anti-mutant protesters, and Erik
Erik would not be present here if not for Charles, but he nevertheless found himself increasingly interested in the man across from him. Who was he to ask such questions? Given what the man had already mentioned, Erik began to consider the possibility that he had not been borne but perhaps made. Whatever the case and in consideration of the agents he picked up that were clearly shadowing this individual, it was clear that the man was unlike anyone else.
"It is", he replied simply. The latter questions were just as easy to answer but before them Erik felt a measure of pause. Humanity was inferior. He knew that and had seen the shortcomings of men his entire life. But even he could not help but admit that both man and homo superior were both born alike onto this world. Which was part of the reason he had not simply tried to wipe man from the face of the Earth.
He almost said that God had forsaken him years ago but instead of confusing the man further, he answered more readily, "If you believe in such a thing, God created all things. Human and mutants alike. The message on that sign is indeed a lie, for anyone who knows anything about God knows that he loves that which he creates. And no, I do not contend to know him."
