Dear Xavier's School staff, students, and friends,
As many of you already know, we are holding a public memorial for Professor Xavier this weekend in Manhattan. I have heard concerns from some of you about the wisdom of holding such a public event in these troubled times. Some have asked whether the X-Men and other groups can guarantee the memorial will be peaceful and safe for mutants and humans attending; others have expressed a concern that certain factions may attempt to turn this peaceful gathering into a violent demonstration. Those are valid fears, and the X-Men and their allies will be on alert to keep all in attendance safe in honor of our beloved Professor's lifelong work.
We cannot guarantee that the memorial will remain peaceful. This is a difficult and unpredictable time, with emotions running high for everyone, and there is always risk to appearing in public. However, I feel that it is important now more than ever to show the world our true courage and steadfast belief in the ideals Xavier taught every student who passed through this school's doors, and many more in the wide world beyond it who listened and were inspired by his words and actions.
The individual or group who murdered our Professor may have believed that in doing so they silenced him and intimidated his followers into remaining silent as well. Sunday's memorial is our opportunity to show the world this: We will not run. We will not hide. We will not give up on making Charles Xavier's dream a reality. There are many, many good people who were touched by our Professor's life, mutants and humans alike, and this is our time to rally together to honor the man and to defend his ideals. Now more than ever is the time to show the world we are united.
Students who wish to attend the service should meet at the front entrance by 11:15 a.m. Staff are welcome to ride along or to arrange their own transportation.
Yours, Ororo Munroe Acting Headmistress Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters

Dear Captain Rogers,
As you may have learned already, we of the X-Men and Xavier's School are holding a public memorial service for Charles this Sunday in Manhattan. It is my hope that you and your colleagues are able to attend in order to honor our fallen leader.
This is an uncertain time, as you are aware, and we are walking a delicate line between the inclusion of all who wish to pay their respects and the safety of our own students and associates as well as the humans in attendance. We have the NYPD's and SHIELD's assistance in these dual goals. The X-Men will be on alert for any incidents, and I am asking for the aid of your Avengers to ensure that the service remains peaceful.
Yours, Ororo Munroe Acting Headmistress Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters
