"Someone shot Xavier," Jen answered, her fists clenched and brow furrowed. She was clearly trying to keep from exploding. "At his speech. Someone shot him. The news feed cut away so I don't know how bad it is...I hope it wasn't that bad." The last part was said quietly, cautiously, almost like a prayer. This world they lived in needed to keep all the moral people it could, and Xavier was one of the best.
"I'm not surprised they want you to come in. I'm half-surprised my communicator isn't ringing..." She knew the Avengers didn't really intervene with smaller stuff, and this likely wasn't a doomsday situation. But it was frustrating to not be able to do anything but pace and fret.
