"You'll talk to her, then?" Draco asked, watching his father over his cup of tea. It was nice that he'd won back some of his father's approval, but that wasn't all he was after with this visit. He wanted his room and his servant back, too. "To the Headmistress? There's a month still left before hols, and that's a long time to drag out a punishment when it's served its purpose."
And that was assuming their punishment would be over when they came back from the summer hols. Draco had been counting on that, at least, but if he could end the punishment sooner rather than later, he would be much happier.
He sipped at his tea, considering the subject with Vera. "It's good that she's safe," he said. "But if she doesn't want to come back, what's going to happen?"
So far as he knew, that was when people got blasted off the family tapestry, disowned, excommunicated, whatever word they wanted to use. He had liked Vera, but he was prepared to take his family's side on this issue.
