He couldn't tell her exactly why he sympathized, but he still remembered how angry he'd been over losing Harry, all that rage at the world and nowhere to channel it. It had taken years and years for that to fade; it still wasn't gone.
Sadly, he reflected that losing someone important probably qualified her for the ranks of the Outsiders. He wasn't sure what he'd be willing to offer her - he certainly wasn't going to let her stay at the Headquarters, that was far too dangerous even if she could be trusted - but he listened, wanting to hear her answer.
