Barty stepped out, ash free, on the other side and tapped his fingers against his leg as he waited. It felt like forever. He waved his wand to call for a lift even before he walked over. But oh Evan was there, was out, and Barty knew exactly how long it took to walk to his desk. And it was too long. Even with the lift coming up, so that the doors opened while they were still walking over.
Barty's arm came around Evan's waist happily - hell if Barty cared who saw - as he checked out the entrance again. Yes, it had changed. Slowly. But oh he didn't care then. Pulling Evan along, he pressed level two and doors close as soon as they were in. No one else there. Barty leaned across and kissed Evan on the cheek, "Only a few more minutes." And no one in the area in front. Oh Barty wasn't waiting for the desk to get started.
