This was more than Theodore really knew how to deal with. But he couldn't leave, not when she was falling apart. Especially since he did consider her a friend, albeit not one he'd gotten incredibly close to. But she had trusted him with her secret, and he was seeing her now at what had to be one of the very lowest points in her life. They were close enough that he wouldn't abandon her now.
"No," he said softly. "Caring makes you better, it makes you strong. I'm stronger than my father, and you can be stronger than them, too. You already are."
