Theodore wasn't helping much, he could tell. He didn't have any experience with this sort of thing, and quite frankly probably would have handled the situation even worse than Tracey was apparently doing.
"The tattoo isn't a bad idea," he said carefully, trying to explain where he was coming from. "It's meant well, anyway, and the sentiment behind it counts. I think for me, it's the sentiment itself that wouldn't really be enough."
"But I'm not Tracey," he added. "I don't think I could handle that kind of relationship, but that doesn't mean she can't."
He hoped that he wouldn't have to deal with this kind of problem in any of his own relationships. Theodore was definitely not equipped to deal with loving someone that was polyamorous, and he was glad that he had no feelings for Zach other than being his friend.
