By the time Ginny had registered the kiss enough to reciprocate, he was already pulling back. Her head was spinning and he was half-way out the door before she could get another word out. She wanted to scream how she felt about him for everyone to hear but not only would that likely end in disaster, it wasn't going to help his current situation...whatever that was.
Despite herself, she could feel her eyes burning as she watched after him, holding the bundle of blanket and mirror and map close to her chest and trying to keep herself calm. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew it couldn't be good. She could still feel the echo of his lips against hers and gingerly touched the warm spot with just the tips of her fingers.
