It took Gabrielle far longer to reach Fleur's quarters than she had anticipated. This castle was strange. Every corridor looked the same to her and the staircases changed unexpectedly. She was in near tears when she finally did find her sister's quarters. She felt lost, and not just because she was in a new school that was about as depressing as she already felt. It was also because she didn't have Lisette and Marie in the next room over with whom to curl up with while reading fashion magazines, or Michel or Jean waiting for her outside of the girls' chambers to walk with her to class. Her friends weren't here, her parents were gone and now she couldn't figure out which way the stairs had taken her. It was overwhelming to say the least.
Finally arriving at Fleur's room, Gabrielle lifted her hand not carrying the bag of Orangina and baguette. "Fleur?" she questioned the closed door. "Fleur, c'est moi. Gabrielle." She hoped that she had the right room. That would be mortifying, if not.
