Wherein Blaise receives a howler
The following arrived at breakfast. Blaise, in an uncharacteristically embarrassed manner, dashed out of the Great Hall, all but trampling some younger students on the way out. The screams of his mother echoed through the hallway outside--and everyone in the Great Hall could clearly hear all of it.
"BLAISE MAURUS ZABINI!
THIS... IS... YOUR... MOTHER!
YOU KNOW I NORMALLY LET YOU DO WHATEVER YOU WISH, AND I HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN YOU ROOM TO GROW AND HAVE BEEN A LOVING MOTHER! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD I--WE HAVE WORKED FOR THIS FAMILY?
I WAS THINKING OF VISITING ON SATURDAY TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU, BUT I CANNOT. MAKE NO MISTAKE, HOWEVER, YOU HAD BETTER BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR, MISTER! IF I SEE THAT YOU STEP ONE TOE OUT OF LINE--YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT AWAITS YOU."
[The last part is overly sweet and singsongy--a far cry from her angry screaming, though it still echoes through the room, a scary juxtaposition between the two]
"Oh, and do give my regards to Miss Parkinson (I hope she is alright) and Miss Greengrass (with whom you are very lucky to be attending the upcoming ball). Love you, sweetie! MUAH!"
Blaise then returned to the Great Hall, like if nothing happened, dusting himself off and sitting down to finish his breakfast.
"And they say chivalry is dead. Women killed it," he muttered, stabbing his french toast viciously.
