On a normal day, if things had been normal between them, Zach may not have noticed, besides passively, that Tracey chose not to look at him in that moment - or that it was the first time she said his name that day. But he knew she'd been avoiding him, and not being tied together physically seemed to tie in to that. And she was really giving off the vibes of not wanting to talk.
So Zach had a sense that if he tried to talk to her as they ran, she'd just try to run away. And like bloody hell he was going to let her pull this kind of shite with him any longer. They were friends, first and foremost, and friends didn't treat each other like this. It was hard, and Zach wasn't expecting it to be the most fun, but honesty was how he lived. Games were not to lie but for fun.
"I bet I can run across faster than you, Trace," Zach looked her right in the face, a small smirk threatening to sneak into his smile. He knew competitions were one of the best ways to get her to commit to something, so he was using it. That and he was quite confident he could run faster across, nude or not.
