Neville hadn't eaten with the whole Weasley family since the first couple of weeks after the war, when they'd been forced by necessity to squeeze into the house at Grimmauld Place. He was strangely nervous about doing so now. Well, perhaps it wasn't so strange considering Molly's reaction when he'd suggested moving in with Ginny. He was almost sure she'd be looking for an excuse to call the whole thing off, even when the whole thing was supposedly to celebrate the new stage in their lives.
He'd been hoping to have his parents' support tonight, at least, but they'd been called to a job on the other side of the country and had to leave at the last minute. They'd promised to come back and join the party if they could, but he didn't hold out much hope. Added to this, he'd managed to sustain an injury in training that refused to heal by magical means, and he had an obvious bandage stuck to his head just over his ear. At least it would be a fun anecdote, he thought ruefully as he knocked on the door.
He took a deep breath and forced a smile onto his face as Ginny opened the door. "Hey!" he said, giving her a hug and kissed her before he could lose his nerve. It made him feel a little better.
"Ugh, get a room," said a voice from behind her.
"Hey, Ron," Neville said, looking over to grin at him. He and Ron weren't exactly best pals, but they at least had shared experiences, a connection that couldn't be put into words. "Good to see you too, buddy."
