Ginny hoped that Neville hadn't gone far, but she couldn't follow after him just yet. Not when her mum was looking the way she did and things were still so unresolved between them.
"You didn't fail me, Mum." Ginny insisted. "I hope you don't honestly think that you failed me. You and Dad and everyone...you got us out. You saved us. If it weren't for you lot we'd still be stuck there and nothing would've changed. I wouldn't have gotten a second chance at things. You didn't fail me, Mum." She pulled Molly into a tight hug.
"You should never have been taken in the first place. If I had kept a better watch or--"
"Stop. You can't keep..." Ginny shook her head against her mother's shoulder. "If we keep going over what should have happened or could have we'll never move on. I just...I just want a life. My life. I want to be able to make mistakes and get into trouble without it being life or death. I want to mess up and need help and I want to try things for myself. And I can't do that if you and Dad keep me here in a bubble to protect me. I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself." Well, mostly anyway.
