Remus frowned, but didn't answer. He was hit by a sense of complete isolation for a moment. No one, not even Sirius, could understand what this situation was like for Remus. Every bad occurrence in Gilbert's life felt to Remus as if it were his fault, and there was literally nothing he could do to make the situation better. Still, he know that Sirius was effectively shutting down the conversation. Perhaps Sirius could enjoy Christmas. Remus could not. He knew it would be unfair to the others to hinder their moods, though, so he forced a rather fake smile and said, "When do we get to open presents?"
