Having and going out with mates was great, though it happened less in England than in France for him. Life in France was more relaxed and easy, by a large margin. He could afford going out, but most of them couldn't. That was one of the reasons he had chosen this pub, though. He had a card which made their pie and ale cheaper without costing him a thing.
