Remus sucked in a breath, not actually surprised, but understanding that Vera had had years of schooling on when and how to use which curses that he was going to try and undo in one afternoon chat. It wasn't going to work that way, he knew, and he wanted to make Vera aware that he didn't expect her to change overnight, either.
"I'm not saying you did the wrong thing," he started. "It's good of you to defend your home against an unknown intruder. I commend that." He smiled, hoping it appeared genuine.
