Who: Terry Boot and Tsura Aurari What: Terry's cleaning; Tsura's doing... Tsura things. Where: Tsura's room Why: Because Terry has to? Though things might turn out better than he thinks.
Terry had decided to surprise Tsura. The thought of the girl scrubbing floors when he was already used to it nearly turned his stomach. There was also the realisation that he was just bored. He'd finished everything she'd asked him to do, and the magical creatures professor was too busy teaching right now to give Terry something else to do. So, to keep out of the line of sight of the other students and professors, Terry had gone back to Tsura's room and started on the floor.
He hoped Tsura wouldn't mind. He couldn't think that the girl would. She did have some rather particular and peculiar ways of thinking and doing things, however. While he was glad he didn't have to wash her laundry, he couldn't understand why she didn't ask one of the girl servants to do it. It seemed she had a specific procedure or a reason for everything in her everyday life.
The gyp--Romani people were an odd lot, Terry found himself thinking. Certainly not what he'd expected at all. He'd heard people speaking of gypsies (he whispered the word in his head) in harsh, critical terms. Dirty, obscene, lying, thieves--the words were almost synonymous with Tsura's people. Yet, Terry hadn't seen anything of those traits in Tsura. She seemed to be obsessed with cleaning--to the point that she would nag him about washing and showering and changing his clothes. He'd probably used more soap in the past few days than he had in the past two years.
His thoughts faded away as he began to notice a rhythm in his scrubbing. Without even realising it, he began to hum a Romani tune he'd heard Tsura singing the day before.
