What exactly was Zach doing? Perhaps Ernie had him pegged wrong. Maybe there actually was a person deep down under that tough exterior. Wasn't that what people always said? It raised the question, to Ernie at least. What was Zach hiding? Certainly neither of them could control the laws of their society, which was a complete and utter shame, because if they could it would have probably seen incredible changes.
For a few moments, Ernie let himself go. He eased his shoulders underneath Zach's hands and let out a breath he hadn't even realized he was holding in. Why was he being so nice? There had to be a catch, he wanted something, but what? His new life had also made Ernie quite cynical, something he had never been before.
Ernie turned to look over his shoulder, catching the man's eyes and tilting his head. He had blue eyes. Color him surprised, he had never gotten close enough to particularly care, let alone actually take notice. "You have blue eyes," he muttered, eyebrows coming together as if this needed some kind of intense concentration.
