It was all too easy to fall back into the schedule of schoolwork and classes. She had been so excited to come back to school and be closer to her friends, but now she was beginning to reflect that perhaps she had been a bit too hasty on wanting to return. With her birthday just past, she was now 21 years old and would soon be graduating from the Academy. But not without doing one last task.
Her grandparents had only just reminded her of it when they had sent along her birthday gift and a note that just said "Make us proud". Over the summer she had spoken to her grandparents about feeling uncomfortable killing a muggle in order to fully graduate from the school. She had tried to reason to their humanity, but it had been to no avail. They had told her that she was already looked down upon for her blood status, she should not take the risk of letting herself fall from the upper class her grandparents had worked so hard for her. They made it quite clear that they would not support her and she would be reduced to a simple halfblood, servant level if she so chose.
While the thought of loosing her class level was unsettling, the thought of letting down her grandparents was even worse. She understood the sacrifice and time they had put into her; they didn't need to take in their rebellious daughter and her shameful offspring. But they had and shown nothing but love and devotion to her; if she followed everything they said.
She needed to get out of the castle and lunch time seemed the best. She thought about writing to Romi or Cedric to see if they would want to join her, but maybe it would be best to be alone right now. She definitely needed advice, but was unsure who to turn to. It had to be someone that was completely neutral and could listen to her story without judging right off the bat. It would be a hard person to find really.
She settled herself underneath a tree by the lake, her gaze distant as she thought of the near future. Would she be able to kill someone? While they may have only been a muggle, she still couldn't fathom what it would be like. What if they looked at her? What if they began to plead for their life? She shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself, even though it was a warm day. How could she pull this off?
