Through the course of the day, Seamus found himself making a revision to his thoughts from the night before. It was not just the first night back that was exhausting. It was the whole week it looked like. The morning had started with Seamus trying to play the proper servant, only to be told, albeit kindly, that she could manage on her own. He had tried to ready her for the day but only ended up in the way. He had pointedly neglecting wishing Shelly a happy birthday since he had a surprise that night but once the package she had expected appeared when he was out Seamus had hidden it from general sight. If she was smart she would find it with her writing utensils on her desk, easy to locate if she sat down to write. Seamus had even behaved when it was time for class. He was not worried that Shelly would hurt him on purpose. He was worried she would be ordered to hurt him and do so to save face. What had actually happened was... surprising at the least.
Seamus arrived at the kitchens with a spring in his step, having stopped outside to pick flowers. He did owe Hannah after all, since she had not been present for the last bout of surprises for the girls. Even if she was dating Ernie he cared for her in a way that was not like the others. The closest he could think of was a familial love. He was glad Ernie and her had finally started dating, if it could be called that. It was fecking time, he thought. Seamus found himself waiting just inside the kitchens, hoping Blaise did not keep Hannah. It would just be his luck to be stood up and Seamus already wanted to push that certain bloke down a set of stairs. Or twelve sets of stairs. And maybe off of the Astronomy Tower if he survived.
